The author has done his homework, interviewed as many people as he possibly could, and produced a very complete history. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars from me is that the copy I received|About the Author|Rob Bowman is professor of ethnomusicology and popular music at York University in Toronto. His liner notes to the Stax Records 10-CD set won him a Grammy in 1996.
